Mo's Dream Team Guest Designer Challenge

Well you may notice that the look of my blog has changed. I've been playing around with it to find something I like. I don't think I'm quite there yet but let me know what you think.

Tonight I did the card below for a challenge for Mo's Digital Pencil.

I love this stamp. She has such a sweet face. The stamp called "End of summer" reminds of just that. Oh how nice that sounds about now! This entry had to be made by tomorrow and tonight while leaving my daughters house, I slipped on the ice and scraped my right palm all to pieces. I am such a clutz. haha.

This card was a challenge for sure with an injured hand but I did the best I could do under the circumstances. If I hadn't procrastinated it wouldn't have happened. I would like to say "lesson learned" but I know I will procrastinate again. It's in my nature, right along with the clutziness I suppose.

This card was made with a digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil. http://http//digitalpenciltoo.com/

What A Week!

It has been such a busy week! I have been under the weather and cannot find enough engery to get everything done that is on my ever growing "to do" list.

Sunday my friend, Tana and I drove to Overland Park, Kansas and took our Copic Certification class. I'm certified! We drove in a crazy ice and snow storm. We were nuts actually for risking our lives like that but it was an adventure. We were like Thelma and Louise!

I finished my first project as a Design Team member for The Scrapbook Page. The project I did is shown below.

Sorry, the pictures are poor quality. I remembered to take a photo just as I was heading out the door with them. These pages were made using Doodlebug paper, stickers and embellishments. The first page is a 12x12 layout and the second page is an 8x8 layout.

Design Team

I have been selected as a Design Team member for the Scrapbook Page. What an honor. I am so excited! This store is located in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. You can go to http://www.scrapbookpage.blogspot.com/ to see the pages that were done by the girls who won. If you haven't been to this store it is worth the trip! It is rated one of the top ten Scrapbooking stores in the Country. I will be designing for them over the next several months.

Since I have been busy working on some things for the Scrapbook Page I thought I would post a picture of a birthday card I recently did. The image was a freebie from Karensdoodles. I colored it with my Copic markers. If you would like to look at some of the cute digital images done by Karensdoodles

Valentine for hubby

Well I'm feeling a bit tired and under the weather tonight but managed to get my last valentine done. It's another Love Letter Stamp valentine, same mouse just a bit different card. I thought I would share.

Would also like to share a tip. The other day while trying to cut a piece of ribbon I realized my scissors were as dull as a butter knife and actually I got about the same results had I tried to use the butter knife to cut the ribbon! haha. Well in the back of my wee little brain I remembered a tip that if you cut a piece of aluminum foil with your dull scissors it will sharpen them. Well I didn't think it would really work that well but Eureka! It worked like a charm! I couldn't believe it. Try it the next time your ready to toss those dull scissors out the window.

Love Letter

This is a new stamp I got from House-Mouse Designs called Love Letter. I just did a real simple card without a lot of fluff. This is a card for a man so I thought I would keep it toned down a bit.

I stamped the image and colored him with my Copics. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the red background paper and then some simple embelishments in the corner and a bit of stickles on the gift. He is so cute I will have to use him on several of my valentines this year!

A Valentine

This is a valentine card I finished up today.

This is a 6x6 card. The sweet girl is a digital stamp from Cute Daisy May Digi Stamps . If you haven't used a digital stamp you should give it a try. Digital Stamps can be downloaded and used right away. Once the image is downloaded you save them to your computer to be used over and over again. Unlike traditional stamps, digital stamps can be re-sized so you can make them as large or as small as you like!

Daisy May as well as many other websites offer "Freebies" so give it a shot! What do you have to lose! If you use Copic Markers with your digital image you will need heat set your image with a heat tool or you can simply wait a few hours to make sure the ink is dry.

I used embellishments on her hair bow and on her shoes. I pop dotted the image away from the background paper. The three dots used to embellish the top left corner of the card were just 3 pieces of paper I punched out with a hole punch and then I used Diamond Glaze on them to give them a shine. I also used Diamond Glaze on the bucket that the flowers are in.

The second image below is the inside of the card. I kept the message short and sweet!

Hope you had a great weekend.
