Happy Monday! ............... although by the time you read this it will be Tuesday lol!  It is getting late and my plan is to get up and try to run in the morning, so I will make this post a short one.

I have been super busy trying to get things ready for Winter.  I took a couple of days off last week to paint some of the trim on the house and get the Fall and Halloween decorations out of the attic.  I DID get some of the painting done and I DID get the decorations out of the attic (but that's as far as I got with that project).  I spent the first morning of my day off trying to cage a cat!  It was time for her annual shots.  I tried for probably and hour and a half to get that bleepity bleepin' cat into the pet carrier.  Finally it was time to leave for our appointment and I was at the end of my rope.  I just picked her up and put her in the car with me.  It was quite a ride!  Lets just say she does NOT like riding in the car!  Anyway, shots are done and we all lived but that was in question for a while there.

I attended a class this weekend by Suzanne J Dean.  What a treat!  Suzanne's You Tube video's are what got me hooked on Copic Markers.  She is so talented and such a sweet lady.  The class was awesome and I felt like I really learned a lot about techniques. It was a great class and I hope she comes back to KC some day so I can take one of her classes again If you like to make cards or even use markers for scrapbooking I would suggest you check out some of her video's.. The card below was created for my Daughter-In-Law's birthday.  Now this card was done BEFORE my class so if you see any boo boo's don't blame Suzanne!  I tried to make this card look a little vintage.  The image is a digi stamp by Sassy Chery's.  I have several of their images and if you look at some of my older posts you can find them.

The stitching done on the red and white polka dot paper was done with the Sew Easy tool by We R Memory Makers.  This was my first attempt at using this tool.  I've always used my sewing machine in the past but wanted to try this new gadget out.  I will need to try it a few more times to give you an honest opinion so I'll let you know what I think of it at a later date.

Well it's off to sleep for me because that 5:00 a.m. run comes around real quick.

Have a great day!

End of Summer..............
Well it certainly feels like the end of Summer in the Midwest this week.  Our temperatures........ oh they are a changin'.  Tomorrow it is supposed to only be in the 60's!~  I LOVE IT!   Fall is my favorite time of year and Farmers are harvesting their crop, football and school are back in full swing........... Yep it sounds like Fall to me.
I haven't posted for so long.  I have had such a busy Summer.  Honestly I don't see things slowing down in the near future either.  I have been trying to re-do my craft room.  I will post pictures when I get it finished.  I just need to find a very small black chandelier and a couple more things to hang on the wall and I think I will call it done.  So far it looks pretty good.
My wonderful daughter celbrated her birthday last week.  I made this card for her.  This cute digi stamp is by Mo's Digital Pencil and the name is "End of Summer".  You can check out their awesome images HERE.

Well I hope you all have a great day and enjoy the nice weather.

Happy Friday!  Whew what a week.  I'm glad to get that one out of the way. I've been covering for a friend at work, who is out on vacation. I will be glad to get her back next week. I hope she enjoyed herself but enough is enough.  haha!

Our son recently got married and we have gained a beautfiul new Daughter-In-Law (see pics below).  She is adorable and we are so happy to have her in our family.  I made the card below for her.  Her color was purple so I thought it appropriate.  This is a rubber stamp by Twisted Sisters.  This little lady is called Jessamine.

Inside it says "It's your day to shine".

I'm thinking of giving my craft room a face lift.  I'm thinking of doing it in black and white and maybe a splash of some sort of accent color here and there.  Anybody have any suggestions or know of any websites with good pictures for inspiration?  I would love to see your craftroom pics if anyone would like to share.

I bought some awesome pictures tonight from a friend of mine who is so talented.  She opened a shop and has some of her paintings in it.  I bought two pictures done in black and white only.  They are girls dressed elegantly.  I'm thinking of hanging those maybe a black chandelier........ see where I'm going with this???? well maybe.  I'm very indecisive.

Well this is a quick post because it is getting late and I am determined to get my run in tomorrow.  Here is a picture of the newlyweds.

Congrats Austin and Alicia!

Princess and the frog card

It was a HaPpY HaPpY 3rd Birthday for my beautiful princess Emma.  She is such a girly girl. She loves to dress in all the pretty make believe dresses and jewelry.  So much fun!  I made her a card from the The Princess and the Frog.  This has special meaning to me because my Grandma used to read this book to me when I was a little girl.  I still have the book although it is missing the cover and the pages are very brittle....... you'd think I was a 99 years old or something lol!!  Actually I think we just wore the poor book out.

I used paper from a paperstack I bought at Michaels called Once Upon a Time.  I also used a digi image from Elisabeth Bell called "My Prince". I cut out the words from my Storybook Cricut Cartridge and added some Stickles to give them some bling.
I colored the princess and the frog, added some bling to her tiera and some little tiny purple beads to her dress.  The really cool thing is that the paper on the base of the card is actually the story of The Princess and the Frog.... not that anyone would really notice that but me. haha.
I cut out the princess once I had colored her with my Copics and then pop dotted her onto the background paper.  I also cut out a strip of paper with a border punch and pop dotted it in front of the princess to give it more dimension.  I placed it all on an easel card so she could read the little story I made up about her and and look at the princess at the same time.

Happy Birthday Emma... Grandma loves you bunches!

A Sympathy Card and Coupons!!

Wow we had some really crazy storms here last night.  Luckily no damage at my house but my daughter had some damage to her roof and I know many others in the area did as well.  MY biggest inconvenience was that our power went out about 8:30 and didn't come back on.  I whined about it for QUITE  a while.  I wasn't able to watch Desperate Housewives!  It was a really big deal!   We acted like an old couple and used it as an excuse to go to bed early and get some extra zzz's LOL!!

I had a FABULOUS weekend scrapbooking with some ladies from Orrick.  It was so nice to just spend a whole weekend hanging out.  I also took some time out from scrapbooking to watch my BESTEST GRANDSON's soccer game.

Below I created a really simple Sympathy card.

I apologize for the quality of this picture.  I am really struggling with the lighting on some of these cards. I need to get this resolved!! grrrr.   The green on this card is actually a really vibrant green .  I used just a simple green and white background paper and then stamped and embossed a message with gold on white cs and cut it out with my Spellbinders.  This card was so fast and easy and worked up in no time.  You could switch out the message and use it for any occasion.

NOW for the COUPONS!! I found both Michaels and Archivers coupons at this site HERE.  Once you get to the link just click on the coupon you want and print.

Well that's it for now.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

We could all use a bit of Irish Luck!

I could use a little Irish luck this year.  What I've gotten so far is a bunch of  malarkey!!  I'm tellin' ya when it rains it pours.  Now I realize how blessed I am.....  I have wonderful children, grandchildren, friends and family.  I have a roof over my head and Lord knows I don't miss many meals HOWEVER I could use just a wee bit of a break from the continuous breakdown of household items and the continous flow of cash OUT of my bank account.  I need money to buy scrapbooking supplies! NOT repairs and bills haha.  Last Saturday we found out we have to pay Uncle Sam an INSANE amount of money.  Now I don't know if I've mentioned what a tight wad my husband is but lets just say he still hasn't recovered.  Oh well it's just money and as the saying goes... "You can't take it with you".

Today I am posting a card I made using a digital stamp called Bagpipe Patrick, from Sassy Cheryl's.  You can look at all the fabulous stamps at this site HERE.

I used a small rubber stamp and Versamark in "Champaingne" to create the small shamrock watermarks on the background paper. For the Large Shamrock cutout, I used my Cricut. It was an image from Paper Dolls Dressup cartridge.  I cut it out of green cardstock and then sprayed it with Glimmer Mist Lucky.  I also used some Lettuce colored Flock for the grass under his feet.  I plan to give one of these cards to each of my kids along with some sugar cookies.  WE WILL SEE if that happens.  I just don't know if I can get it all done.

OH... I almost forgot.  For those of you who like to check out daily deals for scrapbooking supplies.  I have found several that you may want to check out. These are my favorite
http://www.flowerstoflourishes.com/
https://cropchocolate.com/
http://peachycheap.com/

Flowers to Flourishes and Peachy cheap have great deals and usually I find that they are great even when shipping costs are added in.  Crop Chocoate is a great site because even though they have smaller priced items, you can add them to your cart and hold them there until you build up a large amount and then ship it all at once.  They even offer free shipping after a certain dollar amount.  I have ordered from these sites on many occassions and have not been dissappointed.

Happy Friday.

Help 4 Katie

Today I am going to share a card I made using a digi stamp that was purchased in a fundraiser. Please check out the Help 4 Katie blog by clicking HERE.  Please take a look and consider giving to this cause to help out a fellow crafter.

I made this card as a "Thank You".  I creating a couple of cards using the same image.

I used a Martha Stewart Aound the Corner punch, Spellbinder die punch and I used my Copic marker to change the color of a red ribbon to match my paper perfectly.

Have a wonderful day!

Late Valentine Post

Ok.  So I know... It's really late.  I just didn't get a chance to get these out here before now but I wanted to share. Below are the valentines I made for my family this year.

This first valentine was made for each of my grown children.  I made the "love" and the heart shaped  cut out with my Cricut.  The word "love" was cut out in red cardstock and then covered with clear embossing powder. I did the embossing technique three times to make the clear coat really thick.  I also put a coat of white glitter on the hear cut out.  I then embellished with a ribbon and some cute heart stick pins.  I also had a cute rubber stamp that said the word love and I stamped it on the red card stock with Versamark to give a watermark effect.

I gave this card to each of my kids along with some cupcakes which I put into some cute boxes I got at Michaels and tied with a bow.

I also made these little valenines for my grandkids.
This dragon is a digi stamp from Dustin Pike.  His website is HERE.  This little guy was for my grandson so I didn't want to use the pinks and purples.  I colored the image with my Copics.  I used Diamond Glaze on the heart and I used my Viva Decor pens to create the orange buttons in the corners.

This is another adorable Dustin Pike image I used to make a card for my new granddaughter Aspen.

The last two cards below were made with digital images by Pnk Cat Studio.  You can find their website by clicking HERE

Have a wonderful Day!

Thank you

I hope everyone is getting around in the snow alright.  I love snow.  I will admit that this year it has been a little challenging.  I had surgery and then it started snowing and just hasn't stopped!  Two days after my surgery my fridge went on the fritz.  Took 3 days before a repairman could get up my driver to fix it and where I live we certainly don't get delivery!  Thank heavens for people who brought us food. This last storm my kitchen sink got clogged.  It took two days before the plumber could get up my drive. That meant 2 days with no kitchen sink. Good times let me tell ya.  I know I could have worse problems but I could use a short break from all the troubles.

Enough complaining already!  I have been so blessed with friends and family helping out while I am out of commission.  I have been trying hard to get some thank you cards made.  Below are two cards I created using the same stamp by Elisabeth Bell.  She is one my favorites!  This stamp is called New Friends.  The first one I created using browns and greens.

I created the flower using a brown piece of binding tape which I stuck together just using glue dots to form the rose and then I cut two pieces of green ribbon in the shape of leaves.

The next card was done using blues.

I used a glaze pen on both of these images for her barrett to give it some shine and dimension.

Here are some pics of my snow grandbabies.

I hope every one has a warm and cozy day!

Kraftin Kimmie Birthday Card

My wonderful, beautiful and crafty Mom is having a birthday next week.  I have created a card for her that I think she will really enjoy, as she loves to sew.  I had surgery last week and knew I would be out of commission so I am ready for once... with the card anyway.... struggling with the gift... hmmm.

Well when I saw this stamp from Kraftin Kimmie I knew I had to have it for my Mother.  She makes cards as well and has a lot of friends who sew and quilt sooooo I think the stamp will be part of her gift then she can make wonderful cards to share with her crafty friends.  This stamp is called "Mona the Seamstress".

I knew I had to add some real stitching to this card and then added some buttons to go along with the theme.  I didn't really want to add too much, as the back ground is pretty busy.  I made her eyes blue (just like my Mom) and added some eyelashes (just because a girl's crafty doesn't mean she can't be cute!)  haha.  I can't wait for her to get this card. I hope she loves it as much as I loved making it for her.

Happy Birthday Mom. I love you.

I can't really do much right now with orders from my doc so I think I might find an image to color and use for "thank you's" for all the wonderful friends and amily who have been so extremely nice to me while I've been down and out.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

Cat and Mouse

Happy Tuesday everyone.  Hope your first week of the new year is going great.  I always hate going back to work after a long weekend.  Yuck!  What a drag.  Oh well it pays the bills!

Today I am going to share with you, a card I made for my son's girlfriend.  She recently celebrated a birthday.  Happy Birthday Daryl!  She really loves her furry friends so I picked this cute digi image from Karen's Doodles called Cat and Mouse.  If you like digi images I would check out her website.  So many cute ones.

I used my cuttlebug to emboss the bottom of the card and also used my Viva Decor pearl pen to make the pearls.  LOVE THOSE!  I used a little trick I learned from Suzanne J Dean.  I made my pearls with my pearl pen on a piece of wax paper and then let them dry.  When I was ready to use them I just peeled them off of the wax paper and used a glue dot to attach them to my page.  Worked like a charm!  Thank You Suzanne for your helpful tip.

Have a great day.

Happy New Year!

Hard to believe it is a new year.  The older I get the quicker they fly by.  So far this year we've had to get a new furnace and I've been sick.... again!  Woo Hoo way to ring it in!

Well one advantage to being a bit under the weather was that I didn't really do much.  I did babysit my beautiful grandbabies on New Years Eve.  Felt like poo so I'm sure I wasn't much fun to hang out with.  The rest of the weekend I just laid around and watched movies.  I watched a couple of really good ones that I would definately suggest.  The first movie is "The proposal" with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.  I really enjoyed it and it actually had me laughing hysterically at a couple of points in the movie.  The second movie that I really enjoyed was Julie and Julia.  I thought this was an adorable movie.  I'm pretty sure they are both chick flicks but so what... who cares.

Don't you hate it when you find something on line but when you go to purchase it, the shipping costs more than the item itself?  Well I came across something I need to share with you.  It is a website that is awesome in my opinion.  The website is called Crop Chocolate.  Here's the thing.  They have deals.... and I mean really good deals, on scrapbooking goodies (of course).  They have several throughout the day so check often BUT here is what I think is really sweet about this chocolate.  You can put your items in their "la carte" and they will hold them there for up to 45 days.  This way you can try to get several items before shipping them.  By the way at just $60 worth of product the shipping is free. Check out their website HERE and don't forget to check it throughout the day because they offer several things every day.

I recently made a birthday card for my baby Sis.  I used a stamp from Elisabeth Bell called "Day Dreaming".  I used Flower Soft to make the flowers in the flower box look more real.

The rhinestones I added were done with my new i-rock tool from Imaginisce.  I liked the tool and found it a bit awkward to work with at first but I will give it another shot for sure.

Well I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend but now it's back to reality.

Here's wishing a very happy new year to everyone.
